Early Admission Procedure

For Traditional First-Year Students

Candidates who wish to enroll after the junior year of high school, may be considered for early admission, provided they:

• Meet all the requirements outlined previously under Admission Requirements, including 18 units of high school work;

• Follow all procedures outlined under Regular Admission;

• Exhibit the academic background for success at Carlow;

• Exhibit emotional maturity;

• Provide sound reasons to be admitted before the end of the senior year;

• Submit an acceptable Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) score of the College Board or an acceptable American College Testing (ACT) score in the junior year;

• Provide three separate letters from their parents, high school principal and guidance counselor endorsing the application for early admission and verifying the expected date of graduation.

In rare cases, students may be recommended for early admission without having completed all of the courses required (including senior English). If admitted to Carlow, students must take courses during the first year at Carlow that satisfy remaining high school requirements. Upon completion of the first year, students must submit to Carlow verification of receipt of the high school diploma. Early admission applications must be completed no later than August 1 after the junior year.
